Fab Food Funhouse visits Dunston Hill

The Fab Food Funhouse visited Key Stage Two, to encourage healthy eating & raise awareness of the unhealthy content in some foods.

The Funhouse provided an interactive & engaging session, where the children played a variety of games!

The LA's Don Sweeney presented the show, with his glamorous assistants

Teething trouble

We visitied the Dunston Dental Surgery to support our learning about Healthy Eating and Teeth.

Mr Lalli the dentist and the dental nurses showed us around the surgery, let us try on the gloves and masks, whizzed us up and down in the chair and talked to us about looking after our teeth. We surprised Mr Lalli with our knowledge of adult teeth, Alex told him that adults have 32 teeth and the other children explained how many of each type he would have.

Jessica's Mum is a Dental Nurse and she kindly visited us at school to explain about keeping our teeth healthy. Did you know that in one kit kat there are 6 teaspoons of sugar? We learned about the types of food that are harmful to our teeth, it was quite incredible!

We would like to thank everyone at Dunston Dental Surgery: to Harvey's Mum for organising our visit and to Mr Lalli and Vicky for working on their day off. THANK YOU!!!
A big THANK YOU also to Jessica's Mum for taking the time to speak to us, we learned such a lot.

If you require any advice about keeping your teeth clean feel free to ask anyone of us.
